Trains of Colorado 2025

Join us in 2025 for all the fun that’s in store on Golden Tours’ first Colorado Train Tour!  Stay in lovely towns as we lodge in hotels in Manhattan, Kansas, Farmington, New Mexico, and the following towns in Colorado: Colorado Springs, Alamosa, Durango, Gunnison and Denver!

Sunday, August 3-Tuesday, August 12, 2025

Day One:  We depart for an amazing trip and spend the evening in Manhattan, Kansas.

Day Two & Three:  Arrive in Denver and stay the night at the Drury Inn before enjoying the Georgetown Loop the following day.  Then…It’s off to Colorado Springs for the evening!

Day Four:  Today, we travel to Canon City where we board the Royal Gorge RR for a 2.5 hour ride, during which lunch on board is included.  We will continue to our hotel for the evening in Alamosa, Colorado.

Day Five: Travel through narrow mountain passes and rugged territory to Antonito where we board the 1880’s Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR, featuring open air for 64 miles.  After today’s train we will travel to our hotel in Farmington, New Mexico.

Day Six:  We stop at the Four Corners Monument where Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona meet as we journey to Durango, Colorado.  We’ll visit Mesa Verde National Park, accompanied by a local guide.

Day Seven:  Today we travel on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train for a 45 mile, 3.5 hour ride.  In Silverton, we board our motorcoach and drive the “Million Dollar Highway” en route to Gunnison where we will rest for the evening.

Day Eight:  We travel to historic Leadville for lunch and then board the Leadville Colorado and Southern RR (round trip 2.5 hours) where you’ll view spectacular sights, 1,000 feet from the valley floor before spending our evening in Denver.

Days Nine & Ten:  Our final evening will be spent in Manhattan, KS as we reflect on all of our great memories spent on the glorious Trains of Colorado!

*This trip includes several vintage trains that are powered by steam, coal, and diesel fuel: as such, soot and ashes produced.  In addition, at extreme elevations, those with severe respiratory issues should consider these factors before booking.  Customers are encouraged to bring eye protection (sunglasses, safety glasses, etc.)
