Explore The Amana Colonies for Galesburg

Come explore the Amana Colonies with us!  We will take the Village Voyage Tour with a step on guide who will share with us the history of the place and people as we visit the four main areas.  First stop will be at the Amana Heritage Society where we will watch an award winning video that helps explain their history and the communal era.  Second stop is in Middle Amana at the only surviving intact communal kitchen.  We’ll learn how they were fed and how nothing went to waste.  Third, we’ll visit the high Amana General Store which seems frozen in time.  The final stop is at The Old Homestead Church where we will learn about the Amana Church Society Religion.  We will enjoy a wonderful homemade German meal and spend time walking around the town enjoying the specialty shops or having a nice glass of wine!
